SteriTestTM steam biological indicators for monitoring steam sterilization consist of a thermoplastic vial and a brown cap, a crushable glass ampoule with tryptic soy broth (TSB) modified with pH indicator, and a disc inoculated with Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores.

These are 24 hour Steam Self-contained Biological Indicators (BI) for use in biologically monitoring steam sterilizers, i.e. gravity displacement and dynamic-air-removal systems, operating at 121-135^oC.

Handling Instructions:

Ensure safety and prevent disease transmission in your office
Certified for use with ALL steam sterilization cycles
Clear, easy to interpret results for monitoring the effectiveness of the sterilization process
Final results are known after only 24 hours incubation in a dry block incubator operating at 55°- 60°C

Important:

Biological indicators (BIs or spore tests) are the most accepted means of monitoring sterilization because they directly assess the procedure’s effectiveness in killing the most resistant micro-organisms.
