Periodontal Health

The recommended daily dose of BioGaia Prodentis is 200 million Lactobacillus reuteri Prodentis (2 x 10^8) CFU (colony-forming units). You receive this dose by consuming 1 BioGaia Prodentis lozenge. In some cases, your dentist or dental hygienist may recommend two lozenges daily.

Chlorhexidine is intended for short-term use (1–2 weeks). It works by non-selectively reducing oral bacteria, which can be helpful in acute situations but is not ideal for long-term microbiome balance.

Temporary odor control, often alcohol-based - primarily bacteriostatic (temporary suppression)

Prodentis (Mint / Apple) - It is designed for long-term daily use. Instead of broadly killing bacteria, it supports a healthy oral microbiome by outcompeting harmful bacteria, helping maintain oral stability over time.

The only difference is the flavour between the kids (apple) & adults (mint); both the kids and adults contain the same amount of bacteria per lozenge/dosage.

Fresh Breath is the same as Mint, but it has zinc specially designed for patients with halitosis.
