    Brand: Arestin

    Arestin® (minocycline HCl) Microspheres, 1mg, 24 Carp/Bx

Arestin® (minocycline HCl) Microspheres, 1 mg is a concentrated, locally applied antibiotic to aid in patients with chronic periodontal disease. The innovative microsphere technology that comes with Arestin® allows the antibiotic to remain active in an infected periodontal pocket for an extended period of time. Once Arestin® is inserted into the pocket, its microspheres immediately adhere to the surrounding surfaces, providing a sustained release of minocycline at the site of active infection.

Arestin® is proven to target the red complex bacteria associated with periodontal disease and will help fight infection better than professional dental hygiene alone.

In patients with pockets of 5mm or more, bleeding on probing and localized inflammation that cannot be controlled with SRP alone, Arestin® is the solution. Arestin® is the most conservative approach to periodontal disease treatment prior to surgery.

    Key Features:

    • No premixing or premeasuring required
    • No local anesthesia required
    • No refrigeration necessary
    • No adhesive necessary
    • No dressing necessary
    • No removal, Arestin® microspheres are completely bioresorbable
    • Dentist or dental hygienist can place Arestin®

    Clinical benefits:

    • Data suggests no significant increase of minocycline-resistant bacteria
    • Convenience of an in-office treatment with no pills to take

    Important Safety information:

    • Patients are not to take Arestin® if allergic to minocycline or tetracyclines.
    • The use of tetracycline class drugs, including Arestin®, during tooth development may cause permanent discoloration of the teeth, and therefore should not be used in children or in pregnant or nursing women.
    • Arestin® has not been studied in patients with weakened immune systems (such as patients with HIV infections or diabetes, or those receiving chemotherapy or radiation).
    • In clinical studies, the most frequently reported non-dental side effects were headache, infection, flu symptoms, and pain.

Arestin® Administration Handle is specially made, stainless steel syringe handle that adjoins with Arestin® cartridges to dispense the antibiotic efficiently. This unique thumb ring syringe handle is designed specifically for Arestin® placement. The Arestin® cartridges fit into the syringe handle and lock together. The thumb ring is for comfort and accuracy during administration. Once Arestin® has been placed into the infected periodontal pocket, the single dose cartridge is to be removed and disposed of in the regular garbage. The stainless-steel handle can be steam or heat sterilized just as you would with any other stainless-steel syringe.

Arestin® (minocycline HCl) Microspheres, 1 mg is a concentrated, locally applied antibiotic to aid in patients with chronic periodontal disease. Patients with pockets of 5mm or more, bleeding on probing and localized inflammation that cannot be controlled with SRP alone, should be treated with Arestin®. Arestin® is the most conservative approach to periodontal disease treatment prior to surgery.

    Key benefits:

    • Delivers a concentrated dose directly to the base of the pocket and the active infection site
    • Each cartridge allows for one 1mg dose per infected site. Use the exact dosage to achieve the predicted outcome
    • Handle can be heat or steam sterilized
    • Dentist or dental hygienist can place Arestin®
    • Thumb ring for comfort and accuracy

    The package contains:

    • 1 Arestin Handle per box

    Geistlich Fibro-Gide 15x20x6 mm, 1 Unit/Box

Geistlich Fibro-Gide® is a porcine, porous, resorbable and volume-stable collagen matrix, specifically designed for soft-tissue regeneration. The collagen matrix is made of reconstituted collagen and undergoes smart chemically cross-linking to improve its volume stability while maintaining a good biocompatibility. The porous network of Geistlich Fibro-Gide® supports angiogenesis, formation of new connective tissue and stability of the collagen network in submerged healing. In vivo animal models have shown good integration of Geistlich Fibro-Gide® into the surrounding soft-tissue while maintaining stability.

Geistlich Fibro-Gide® is the alternative to autogenous connective tissue grafts (CTG), which are considered as the gold standard in regenerative soft-tissue procedures. With Geistlich Fibro-Gide® additional harvest site is avoided, patient morbidity is reduced.

Handling of Geistlich Fibro-Gide® is very easy compared to connective tissue grafts:

    • Unlimited availability and consistent quality
    • Measure the defect and trim the matrix to the desired size and thickness
    • Once moist, the matrix can be further trimmed to the desired size and thickness
    • Geistlich Fibro-Gide® can easily be sutured
    • No need for pre-treatment: Excellent hydrophilic characteristics lead to rapid hydration by patient’s own blood and/or sterile saline solution with a volume increase of approximately 25 %.
    • The soaked matrix adapts to contours and adheres well to the defect. Squeezing and re-hydration: Once squeezed, the matrix goes back to its initial state after remoistening (considering the additional swelling of approximately 25 %).
    • Geistlich Fibro-Gide® does not require a second surgical site
    • Geistlich Fibro-Gide® should be used as a submerged graft to increase soft-tissue thickness around implants and natural teeth

The matrix is available in two sizes:

    • 15 x 20 x 6 mm
    • 20 x 40 x 6 mm

    The package contains:

    • 1 matrix of 15 x 20 x 6 mm
